Sewing seems like a big undertaking to start learning but this is one skill that is easier than you think! Sewing doll clothes is a great way to start learning today. Small projects not only require minimal materials but also can be finished fairly quickly.
I started my sewing journey sewing Barbie clothes for my own dolls when I was 8. I loved sewing clothes for my dolls, even if they didn't turn out, I felt a huge hit of accomplishment. I did this, I made it or at least I tried.
Flashforward to my adult years and I still loved sewing. I went to college and got a fashion degree and started working in professional theatre. When I started having children of my own I took a break from sewing. Now I have come full circle and teach others to sew for their dolls as well as beginner sewing lessons.
I have monthly LIVE sew-with-me show where I demenstrate a sewing skill and give assignments for the next month. I also discuss, in a Q & A, any questions you may have on your sewing journey.
